PDF Page Resizer
Rescale every page of a PDF onto a different paper size — A4, Letter, Legal, or A3 — free and entirely in your browser with pdf-lib. Content is scaled proportionally (or stretched to fill), centered, with optional margins, and mixed portrait/landscape documents keep each page's own orientation. Important: this changes the PAGE size, the paper dimensions — not the file size. To make the download smaller, use Compress PDF.
How to resize PDF pages to a new paper size with Allypdf
- Drop in the PDF — it is opened by pdf-lib in your browser, never uploaded.
- Pick the target paper size: A4, Letter, Legal, or A3.
- Choose Fit (proportional, safe default) or Stretch, plus an optional 10 or 20 mm margin.
- Download the PDF with every page redrawn on the new paper.
Why "no upload" matters here
The PDFs that need re-papering are contracts, forms, and briefs headed for a printer — documents with names, terms, and signatures. Allypdf rescales them with pdf-lib running as JavaScript in your own browser tab, so the document never touches a server.
Common uses
- Convert a US Letter contract to A4 before printing it in Europe (or the reverse).
- Rescale a Legal-size brief onto Letter paper so office printers handle it.
- Blow slides or one-pagers up to A3 for posters and handouts.
- Add uniform margins to an edge-to-edge document for hole-punching and binding.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing the pages make the file smaller?
No — page size and file size are different things. This tool changes the paper dimensions each page is drawn on; the megabytes stay roughly the same. For a smaller download, run the result through Compress PDF.
How do I convert a Letter PDF to A4 for free?
Drop the PDF onto Allypdf's PDF Page Resizer, choose A4, and click Resize Pages — every page is redrawn on A4 paper, scaled to fit and centered, and the file downloads free with no watermark.
Will the content be distorted?
Not with the default Fit mode, which scales proportionally and centers the content (thin even bands can appear when the page shapes differ). Stretch fills the new page exactly at the cost of slight distortion.
What about documents that mix portrait and landscape pages?
By default each page keeps its own orientation — landscape pages go onto landscape paper of the new size. Untick the option to force one orientation for the whole document.
