Why does it say my PDF has no fillable form fields?

Because the file is a flat PDF — usually a scan or a print layout that only looks like a form. It contains no interactive fields to fill. This tool doesn't type over flat pages; use Allypdf's PDF Editor or Sign PDF to place text on top of a flat or scanned document.

Are XFA (Adobe LiveCycle) forms supported?

Not yet. XFA forms keep their field data in an embedded XML packet rather than in standard PDF fields, and filling only the visible layer would create a file whose answers vanish or conflict in Adobe Reader. Allypdf detects XFA and tells you honestly instead of producing a broken document.

Can I stop my answers being edited after I download the form?

Yes — turn on the "Flatten form after filling" option. Flattening merges your responses into the page content itself, so the PDF still shows every answer but no longer contains editable fields.

Does it work on password-protected PDFs?
