PDF Editor

Edit PDFs in one place: merge several files, drag pages into a new order, rotate or delete pages, stamp text and images, apply a watermark, and split the result into page ranges. The whole workbench runs in your browser — your documents are never uploaded to a server, so contracts and reports stay on your device from the first page to the final download.

How to edit a PDF with Allypdf

  1. Load one PDF or several — every page appears as a draggable card in the page tray.
  2. Drag pages to reorder them, rotate sideways scans in 90° steps, and delete pages you don't need.
  3. Add text, image, or watermark overlays and choose which pages they apply to.
  4. Click Apply & Download to rebuild the PDF locally — or enter ranges to split it into separate files.

Why "no upload" matters here

The documents people actually need to edit — contracts being assembled for signature, reports with pages that must be removed, drafts that need a CONFIDENTIAL watermark — are precisely the ones that should not sit on a stranger's server. Allypdf rebuilds the edited document with pdf-lib inside your own browser tab: no page, overlay, or watermark ever travels over the network, and closing the tab leaves nothing behind to delete.

Common uses

  • Assemble a contract from several PDFs, drop the internal-only pages, and watermark it DRAFT before review.
  • Fix a scanned bundle: rotate the sideways pages, delete the blanks, and reorder everything correctly.
  • Stamp an approval note and a logo on specific pages of a report before distribution.
  • Merge monthly statements into one file, then split it back into quarterly ranges as separate PDFs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I edit a PDF for free without uploading it?

Open Allypdf's PDF Editor, load your files, and make your changes — reorder, rotate, delete, overlay, watermark, split. Everything is computed by your own browser, so nothing is uploaded and the edited file downloads straight from your device. Free, with no watermark forced on your file and no sign-up.

Can this editor change the existing text inside my PDF?

No — it is a page-level editor. It rearranges, rotates, deletes, and splits whole pages and adds new text, images, and watermarks on top of them, but it does not re-flow or retype text that is already part of the PDF.

Can I merge several PDFs and edit them in one pass?

Yes. Add as many PDFs as you like and their pages land in a single tray, labelled by source file. You can interleave pages from different documents, rotate or delete any of them, then export one combined file — or split it into ranges.

Does editing reduce the quality of my pages?

No. Pages are copied losslessly with pdf-lib rather than re-rendered, so existing text stays sharp and selectable and images keep their original resolution. Overlays are written into the PDF as native text and image objects.

How does splitting into separate files work?

In the Split / Extract tab, type ranges such as 1-3, 4-6 against the edited page order. Leave the zip option off to download one PDF with just those pages, or turn it on to export each range as its own file inside a zip archive.

Can I edit a password-protected PDF?

Not directly — encrypted files are detected and skipped with a notice. Remove the password first with the free Unlock PDF tool (you need to know the password), then edit the unlocked copy here.
